Ohio Medical University 1892-1907

Ohio Medical University purchased a large lot on Park Street (then Front Street) facing Goodale Park to erect a new school building. The medical school then donated an adjacent lot on the south, as well as $5,000, to the Protestant Hospital Association to erect a hospital so medical students would have access to clinical facilities. Protestant Hospital, also known as White Cross Hospital, was the forerunner of Riverside Methodist Hospital.

In the spring of 1907, negotiations were completed for the merger of Starling Medical College and the Ohio Medical University to form Starling-Ohio Medical College. In 1914, the school became a college within The Ohio State University.
