Biography
of
John G. Boutselis, M.D.

John G. Boutselis was born to George and Mary Boutselis in Lowell, Massachusetts. He attended St. Anselms College in New Hampshire. He joined the Navy V-12 program and received his medical degree from the St. Louis University Medical School in 1947. He was a Captain in the Medical Corp. during the Korean Conflict. He completed residency training in Obstetrics and gynecology at The Ohio State University Hospitals in 1957. He continued to practice at the University and Mt. Carmel Health Center, where he was department chairman for many years and director of the residency program. In 1990 he was named Professor Emeritus at OSU. Dr. Boutselis died April 17, 1999 after a four year battle with cancer. Dr. Boutselis and his wife Betty had 2 children John, and Mary.
