The items in this collection were sent to the Medical Heritage Center in 2002 by B. Anne Rubin. The collection was processed in January 2003 by Judith Wiener.

HISTORICAL SKETCH

Born in Germany, B. Anne Rubin’s family later moved to Columbus and she attended The Ohio State university School of Medicine, earning her B.S. in Nursing in 1950. After serving as a nursing instructor in Dayton, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, PA, Rubin moved to California and soon began a long career in school cursing. She published on the topic of “Black Skin” in the late 1970s and earned a M.P.H. in 1984 from California State University.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The B. Anne Rubin Collection contains an autobiography of and memorabilia from her nursing school years (1946-1950) at The Ohio State University School of Nursing. Also included is a 1992 copy of her resume.
