Processing Notes

The photographs are grouped together in order by school name and date. However, the oversize nature of some of the class photographs caused some irregularity in order. This finding aid contains both a container listing and chorological school listing.

Provenance

This collection was given to the Medical Heritage Center in 1999 by The Ohio State University School of Medicine. It was processed in 1999 and re-processed and re-housed in 2003 by Judith Wiener and Kristin Rodgers to better preserve the collection and to make it more accessible.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Class Photos collection contains photographs of graduates of various medical schools in Central Ohio. In addition to graduating students, some faculty and class reunion photographs are found within the collection. The class photographs vary between group photographs and individualized photographs pasted on oversized board.

The photographs, generally, were taken by the medical schools as a record of their graduates.

The collection is incomplete. Refer to the finding aid’s container listing as well as the listing by school and year for more information. Additional photographs can be viewed in the lobby of Meiling Hall at The Ohio State University.

SERIES DESCRIPTIONS

Each series is named after a particular school in Central Ohio. The photographs from that particular school can be found within the series.
