Dr. Luisada was born in 1901 in Florence, Italy.  He moved to the United States in 1939, where he spent most of his time teaching and lecturing at the Chicago Medical School.  He was a cardiologist who spent much of his time researching phonocardiography. He was an initiator of the Laennec Society for Cardiovascular Sound and served as its first president.

Phonocardiography is used in the study of the heart and the sounds and rhythms it makes.
